My Advent socks are almost done! I am sewing some pajama shorts for Dogster as he has outgrown the last pair I made for him and all his hand-knit socks.

Tome Time Episode 44

Welcome to Tome Time Reading and Knitting Podcast. I have been super busy parenting, but I’m back with a short update of my reading, knitting, sewing, and running.


The book that I have finished is Eldest by Christopher Paolini. The knitting content begins at 3:27.

I finished two pair of socks, started a So Faded pullover, the Ramble Shawl (both by Andrea Mowry), and the Jelly Roll socks by Orange Knits.

I am almost done sewing the Deer and Doe Bleuet Dress out of some crazy circuit board print poplin. I ran the Heroes Half Marathon in my average half marathon time and am trying to get a little faster for a Hot Chocolate 15K race in February.

I have finished another Steward hat by Irish Girlie Knits and the My Everything cardigan by Joji Locatelli in Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok in the Midnight Sea color. I am currently working on the Bayside Pullover by Hannah Fettig out of Twisted Owl yarn in the Brothers in Blue colorway, as well as Elphaba’s Revenge socks by Sarah Wilson in Marianated Yarns and some vanilla socks in HAY Yarns in the Johnny Jump Up colorway.

I am sewing a 90’s style slip dress from Wardrobe by Me.

Tome Time Episode 34: Grand Library Reopening

I read Dreamers Often Lie by Jacqueline West, The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, and American Gods by Neil Gaiman.  There are no spoilers in my reviews.

I am knitting Titania’s Revenge socks by Cookie A in Toad Hollow Yarns in the Fairy Court colorway. I finished socks for Dogster from Mustache Yarns Boba Fett colorway. Slow progress is being made on My Everything by Joji Locatelli out of Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok in Midnight Sea. My traveling knitting project is a vanilla sock in the Cosmos colorway from The Brazen Stitchery on their Paparazzi Sock base. Dogster has unofficially renamed this colorway The Grand Library Reopening. I have almost finished The Secret Skein Mystery KAL from Mina Loves Designs.

My recent sewing has consisted of Simplicity 1070, but I have big plans for a vintage inspired wrap dress from Sew Many Dresses, So Little Time.

I made two laps of the Beast Trail before my calf muscles could take no more. It was a beautiful run and I hope to try for three laps next year. This fall, I have a 15K trail run and a half marathon planned. This summer I will concentrate on getting a little faster.
