Welcome to new and returning viewers! A special welcome to new members of our Tome Time Reading and Knitting Ravelry Group. I can be found as Musingrunner on Raverly, Good Reads, The Fold Line, and Twitter. On Instagram, I am Tometimereadingandknitting.
Knitting content begins at 18:21.
We talk about all the fun we had a local art festival and how excited I am about the debut issue of Rib Magazine, a magazine for men and those who knit for them.
Books: Shift by Hugh Howey, Glass Sword by Veronica Aveyard, Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke.
Finished Objects: Song of the Sea Cowl by Louise Zass-Bangham out of Sweet Sparrow Yarns Nuthatch base in the Pure Reason colorway. This was for the Purls Before Twine Podcasts Song of the Sea KAL.
Surprise Stripes Knee Socks by Anna Johanna out of all my sock scraps.
Works in Progress: Lafitte Shawl by Denise Bell of Lost City Knits. I plan on finishing the butterfly chart this week! I am entering this in Samantha’s Finish It Up KAL. Projects have to be finished by the end of the year.
Lorne’s Hat by Stephanie Pearl McPhee out of Briar Rose Fibers Sea Pearl.
Shortie Vanilla Socks out of sock scraps.
Cafe Au Lait Socks by Deb Buckingham out of my Blueberry Chick yarns coffee sock blank.
Dogster requests a rainbow and coffee knit bean toy.
Future Knitting: Country Cable Socks by Rachel Paulsel out of Knit Picks Felici in the Rainbow colorway. This pattern was given to me by Samantha of The Yarn Reader Podcast as a prize for her Queue-Along.
The Joker and The Thief by Melanie Berg out of the Bad Science Fiction mini set by Kniterature and some Lolo Did It yarn.
I want to knit a sweater, but I am making myself finish the Lafitte shawl first.
Sewing: I finished by 1940’s Empire Waist pants, but they are about 5 pounds too tight! I will sew some Ginger Flared Jeans by Closet Case Files and the Lucie Dress by Republic de Chiffon soon. Watch for a Solo Sewing Supplement about the Empire Waist Pants soon.
Training: I took a week of from running to help my husband with his art festival booth, but I am back to my training plan now. I will run a 10K race next weekend.
Thanks so much for watching. Please leave us comments, questions, and hello’s in the comments section or in the Ravelry group.
