Tomorrow is the first of June, which also begins several make alongs that I am excited to participate in. The first of these is the Splash Pad Party hosted by BostonJen of the Down Cellar Studio audio podcast.
To participate, you knit something portable, preferably from the list of participating sponsors. This Knit Along/ Crochet Along runs from June 1 to July 31, 2016.
I purchased a skein of Kay’s sock yarn in the Umbrella Drinks at the Swim-up Bar colorway on her sparkle base. Her shop is called Blueberry Chick Yarns and her podcast is the Bede Sister’s audio podcast. This yarn is so pretty and happy that I am super exited to start knitting with it! Happy knitting!

This is my Prairie Smoke shawl, it is the Prairie Fire shawl by KIS Designs. The yarns are Zen Yarn Garden Serenity Glitter Sock in the Arctic colorway and Shibui Silk Cloud in the Fjord colorway. I am almost finished with the first lace chart and after that it should zoom along.
For my friend’s birthday, I am cross stitching the characters from the T.V. show Firefly. Both my friend and I are fans of the show, so this is an enjoyable make. The pattern comes from Grey Fox Boutique on Etsy and is very well done. I am on the last two characters now, and I may finish it today, which is good because my friend’s birthday was last Thursday! Happy stitching.
