Finished Friday – Boot Socks for the boy

Our climate is pretty mild here, but we do have some cold days when boot socks would be appreciated. So, in the spirit of #sockswithsarah and my Year of Handknit Socks, I took some Cascade 220 Superwash that I had lying around and cast on Rye, the sock pattern from Tin Can Knits Simple Collection. These socks only took 5 days to knit. I was blown away. I have enough yarn left to make a reverse color pair for him, too. The pattern was very well written and perfect for beginners. It even includes links to online tutorials for all of the sock techniques included. I am going to give this pattern to a friend who is knitting slippers now, but may want to try socks one day. Happy knitting!knitting 002
